2017 - 2018 Application Changes (Class of 2017)
ApplyTexas has new Essay Topics.
Topic A: What was the environment in which you were raised? Describe your family, home, neighborhood, or community, and explain how it has shaped you as a person.
Topic B: Most students have an identity, an interest, or a talent that defines them in an essential way. Tell us about yourself.
Topic C: You've got a ticket in your hand -- Where will you go? What will you do? What will happen when you get there?
CommonApp will not delete account information prior to rolling over to 2017-18 Application.
Historically, students were unable to work on the application website(s) prior to August 1 when the "new" application cycle started. This year, CommonApp has stated that it will not delete applications that have been started in the CommonApp website during it's rollover on August 1st. Therefore, students will be able to start building their CommonApp profile earlier.
Note: ApplyTexas does not follow this practice at this time. You will need to wait until August 1st to begin ApplyTexas.
Coalition Application
The Coalition Application is new for 2017-18 cycles. Since there is not much information available regarding it's success. I would advise you to use other applications sites to apply to schools, if available. Until we learn more about this application.
